TommyLog – Fox Cities Future 15 @thrivewithsarah

Last night i was an invited guest of Sarah Schneider for the Fox Cities Future 15 Young professional awards night held at Outer Edge. What a great space for an awards banquet. it is a converted church now a small performance hall. Well the real reason I was there was to pay tribute to the Future 15 and Sarah. Little did I know that there was going to be one big winner of the night and IT WAS SARAH!!! How exciting. Sarah is such a rock star and all of you who know the know exactly what I’m talking about. CONGRATULATIONS SARAH!!

What Were You Doing when you Heard the News?

What were you doing when you heard the news of the death of Osama Bin Laden? I was on the couch watching DVR‘d shows when I saw the The POTUS was having an emergency press conference come across my twitter feed! WOW!!. I immediately tuned to the cable news shows to see what was happening. While they were trying to make sense of it all..across my twitter stream came UNCONFIRMED: BIN LADEN DEAD! HOLY COW!!! The scoop was on twitter and not the news channels.

Where were you on 9/11 when you heard the news of the terrorist attacks? I’ll never forget that day as I’ll never forget where I was last night, May 1st 2011 when I heard the news…

TommyLog: Loud and Clear

Well the people have spoken and I think there was a clear message. People are not happy with whats going on. Right or wrong, people are really not pleased. Wisconsin has a new Governor, new representatives in the House and Senate and a new tone has been set. Its such a divisive topic and speaking to friends about politics is not something I feel comfortable doing. It never ends well.

The one thing to learn is that this changing of the guard happens every 2-4 years. I have seen it before and it will happen again. We will get through this and we will move forward. I guess the big point is this. When you are hired by the people to do a job, listen to what they say and do their will or this type of thing will happen over again.

Good luck guys, you got your wish..now get ready to go to work!

Fly the Flag with Pride

An Army Vet told American flag in apartment window violates rental agreement http://bit.ly/dwne3k. What the hell is this all about? This just kills me, good people being told they are going to get evicted for flying the american flag. What a joke! This makes my blood boil!! On american soil being told you can’t fly old glory because its not fair? Fair to who? Well I called up the management company and stated my name and reason for calling and was promptly hung up on. How pathetic. I suggest you call, be nice but tell them that no friend of yours will ever rent form them again till they change their policy. We’ll see what kind of response they get! The number is 920-426-2060. Again, if you call, please be kind but state your thoughts on the matter.

UPDATE: Midwest Realty Management has had a change of heart. The say they will not be evicting the Price family over their display of the American flag. WFRV 5 Story.  THANK YOU for making the right choice here. I do not, whatsoever, condone the use of threatening phone calls of even calling the employees at home. Its certianly not the employees fault for a bad policy. A tastefully worded email or phoen call was all that was needed. Using harsh language is no way to solve a disagreement.

Welcome to the United States

I’m such a softy. Ultimate softy. I have no idea why I am the way I am, but when the customers agent said “welcome to the United States!” I got teary. Maybe its all the time away from home and missing my family, maybe its pride, but one thing is it’s not any less pride and love for my great hosts here in Vancouver. I love Canada, make no mistake, but my home is my home and I miss it so.
