I Didn’t Get the Job!

Hey kids, it’s Dad. For today’s Tommylog I want to talk to you about something really great that happen before Thanksgiving. I had the opportunity to apply for a newly opened team lead position at ESKO. I was scared to throw my hat in the ring but I did it. The process was amazing. I was taken seriously the minute I mentioned it to my boss. I talk to my boss in the hiring manager. I even got to have a face-to-face second interview with the hiring manager. What an amazing process. It’s great to work for a company that looks internally for great people and wants to capitalize, showcase and nurture talent.

I didn’t get the job. But that’s OK! The real win here is the fact that I was taken seriously. The management at ESKO knows I’m interested in growth opportunities. They know I don’t want to be a screw turner the rest of my life. They listen to my ideas and I’m excited about the future. The guy who got the job is absolutely spectacular and I couldn’t be more happy for him. I support him 100%.

The people at ESKO are on notice!

Tommy is coming and he’s looking for more responsibility and the opportunity to manage people. I’m thrilled for the doors that are opening up for me.

I GOT A FULL TIME JOB!!

Hey, kids, it’s Dad. What an amazing Thanksgiving we had! And we had extra helpings of blessings poured on the family at this time. The cat is out of the bag. It’s time to let everybody know!

I GOT A FULL-TIME JOB!!!

I excepted an offer with a company called Esko. I will be a solutions architect working on their brand on her team. I will be focusing my time and energy on a piece of software called web center. I could not be more excited.

I was laid off August 16, 2016. It has been almost 475 days. I have so many people and companies to be thankful for. The Quotient Group, Brand Outcomes, World HeadQuarters, Appleton Steel, and FitFluential. All these amazing companies help support the Clifford family as I tried to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Chad, Shelly, Brenda, Kelly, Craig, Kim – – thank you for your love and support. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for allowing me to use my current skills, build some new skills and delight your customers. I appreciate the faith you put in me!

I did it! I did it! I DID IT!!!

Thank you to all my cheerleaders! Thank you to my wife and family as well as extended family for putting up with me! I love you all.

TommyLog – ONE YEAR & Counting!

Hey, kids, it’s Dad and for today’s TommyLog I want to talk to you about the last year. 365 days ago I got laid off from my previous job. What an amazing year! You guys have been along for the journey. My ups and my downs. So this is kind of a mini “state of the union” as to where things are at.

When I started out on this journey, I thought that finding that next big job would be difficult, I didn’t think it would be this difficult. A few interviews and a lot of disappointment later, I had to change my tune. One big job is not where I was supposed to be. I’ve decided that two or three smaller part-time gigs are going to be much more effective than one big gig. So I want to tell you about my part-time hustles. I have one part-time job with a company called brand outcomes in Green Bay. I’m working on their brand strategy team. I love the people and I love helping others solve problems.

My next part time job is with a company called World HeadQuarters here in Appleton. I’m helping create the next generation of evolved workspace. Brenda Leopold is the brain child here and she asked me to come on board to help make this happen with her.

What an amazing journey this has been. I promise you, without the help of amazing friends, and a supportive network, this never would’ve happened. Huge shout out to my supportive family and especially my sweetheart. Their support has been amazing!

I am so excited for what the next year awaits for me.

To the moon!!

TommyLog – Upwards and Onward!

Well the cat is out of the bag. I have put in my 2 weeks notice at my current working place and now I’m off to bigger things. My time here has been amazing, but new opportunities come and this one was just too great to pass up.

It’s the hard to say goodbye, but the smile is just so wide on my face with the possibilities here.
