TommyLog TECH – Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 #vzwbuzz #ad

Hello kids, for today’s TommyLog Tech I want to show you a small solution for one of biggest problems facing those who are bitten by the mobile tech lifestyle, the Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000.

The Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 is a super small, portable battery pack that recharges all your mobile tech gear. As the name suggests the Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 offers up to 4000 mAh of power. Well what’s the really mean to me? For you iPhones users, that means you can recharge your iPhone’s up to 3 times. Samsung galaxy Note 3 users can get more than a full charge and iPad mini, almost 75% recharge. That’s a lot of charging power packed into such a small size. This device is about the same physical size and weight as my iPhone 5S.

The Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 has a power button that and a set of 4 LED status lights that tells you how much charge is left in the battery. The power pack also has a industry standard micro USB as well as standard USB plug for all your charging needs. iPhone users just plug in your lightning cable to the USB port and away you go. The Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 can even charge 2 devices at the same time. That’s pretty awesome.

The Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 has built in computer circuitry to charge your device as fast as the device can take current, and is even smart enough to shut itself off when not in use. The computer brains allow the Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 to be plugged into the wall outlet at all times without over charging –so it’s ready to go when you are.

The Motorola Power Pack Slim 4000 is totally Tommy Approved and is part of my mobile lifestyle!

TommyLog TECH – On my Way to a 5K with the Jawbone UP! #VZWbuzz #AD

Fitness bands seem all the rage these days. There are models from Fitbit, Nike and even Samsung has entered the fray. I have been using one for almost a year and it’s the UP from Jawbone.

The Jawbone UP as well as these other products are much more than just glorified pedometers; it’s a complete fitness accessory. The UP tracks not only my steps; zero set up required, but it tracks my sleep patterns as well. I tell it when I’m sleeping soundly and when I’m not. UP tracks how long it took me to fall asleep and how many times I wake up in the middle of the night. I have a sleep goal of 8 hours and its not that tough to attain.

I love that fact that the UP only needs to be charged about once ever 10 days. It’s waterproof for showering and doing the dishes. Not recommended for swimming or being submerged in the tub. The UP syncs to your iPhone or Android device via the 3.5″ headphone jack. I sync it once a day and while plugged in you can play with other settings like Smart Alarm and Idle Alert.

The UP Smart Alarm analyses your sleep patterns and wakes you via a gentle vibration when you are the most refreshed, within a 10-20 min wakeup window you set. The Idle Alert keeps you from sitting your day away. I have mine set to remind me when I have set for more than an hour at a time. A vibration reminds me to get up and take a walk around the plant. Love that feature!

2014-04-26 19.15.40One of my goals as I get more active 13000 steps at my 5Kwas to participate in a 5K. Last month I took part in the Fox Cities Glow Run/Walk. The even was my first sanctioned 5K EVER! I did the event along with my long time buddy John and it was a blast!
Can you believe that I walked well over 13,000 steps for the event, 19,000 overall for that Saturday? A personal all time best!  What an amazing feeling to know that not only did I smash my personal daily goal, but darn near doubled it, WOW!

The Jawbone Up is totally 100% “Tommy Approved”!!

TommyLog TECH – LG Tone+ #VZWBuzz

OK kids, Tommy here and this time I have the new LG Tone+ Bluetooth headset to talk about.  I really love this product. The headset is lightweight, super easy-to-use and just works. The things darn near bulletproof to setup and use. Once you get past the crappy manual with its super small reverse type, it’s an awesome product.

The LG Tone+ headset is totally one hundred percent Tommy approved!

TommyLog TECH – Belkin WeMo Switch #VZWbuzz

When my good friends at Verizon asked me to test the new Belkin WeMo Switch, I was more than happy to do so.

This thing is just dead simple to use.  Follow a few simple instructions and you ar ready to go in under 10 min flat. Well mine took a bit longer as I had firmware to update, but my mileage may not be typical.

Anyone looking to add a bit of home automation to your life, this is a super easy way to get started.

TommyLog – Do The Right Thing!

This week had a SUPER customer services story to share with you. I was getting my old iPhone 4S repaired. needed some good old TLC so i took it to my buddies at Electronics ETC on Northland. They diagnosed the problem and had the phone fixed in a very timely fashion. But when I came to pick it up, I saw that he screen was on in the same condition it was when i dropped it off. it has a rather large scratch in it. What happened next was just amazing. They offered me a discount on the work that I had completed. That just wasn’t going to do it for me as I was planning on reselling the phone on ebay… so they offered to replace the screen for … NO CHARGE! Not only did they take good care of my original issue, but they did the right thing, in taking care of the scratch.

There is a reason I send all my friends to Electronics ETC! YOU ROCK!
