October Fest Fun with Emma!

Hey, kids, it’s Dad. Today I want to talk about our Octoberfest fun Emma and I had. We are blessed to live in a town that supports the arts, non-profits and charities in such a way. Emma is in rare form!

TommyLog – Mile of Music & The Gift of Music!

Hey, kids it’s Dad, and for today’s TommyLog I want to talk to you about an amazing musical event happening in Appleton right now. It’s called Mile Of Music. This music festival is in its fifth year, with over 225 acts across 70 venues performing almost 1000 sets – – all in four days. I have been blessed to attend a few of these musical venues. It has been amazing.

Music is such a gift. And I’m so appreciative that these artists share their gifts with the people of Appleton Wisconsin.

A good friend made the comment, “without art and music, Appleton would just be concrete and parking meters.”

How true!!

Thank you all for sharing your talents, my life is so much better with your music in it!

TommyLog – Social Media Bringing People Together!

There’s no newsflash that I love social media. Social media has connected me with some amazing people and opportunities. Today was one of the GREAT days where I got to meet long time social media friend Patti Dobrowolski. She was invited to come to town to keynote the Cultivate Event being hosted by the Fox Cities Chamber. About 2 years ago, maybe more, I saw her TEDx talk and reached out to her on twitter. She responded and we have been fast friends ever since.

It’s amazing how social media works! You can see her Draw Your Future talk here http://www.tedxrainier.com/talks/patti-dobrowolski-draw-your-future/ or http://pattidobrowolski.com/

What a pleasure it was to meet you.

TommyLog – State Dance Champions!

This weekend was just so AWESOME! Clara in the Little Chute High School dance team participated in the state dance championship which was held in La Crosse Wisconsin. What an amazing sight to behold to watch one of your children participate in such an event. This is a pretty big deal!

Watching Clara in her element is pure magic. Watching her kick routine and her pom routine brought me so much joy.

Her team finished first in pom and first in kick. WOOT!

The competition was pretty fierce. The sportsmanship that was shown by all the teams was really great.

As they were preparing the results, I was just such a wreck. When they announced the winners I was totally crying. I’m such a softy, but when you see your kids in their element. The pride gets the best of you.

Congratulations Clara and congratulations everyone on the dance team. You worked so hard. Next step, Nationals!!

TommyLog – Do The Right Thing!

This week had a SUPER customer services story to share with you. I was getting my old iPhone 4S repaired. needed some good old TLC so i took it to my buddies at Electronics ETC on Northland. They diagnosed the problem and had the phone fixed in a very timely fashion. But when I came to pick it up, I saw that he screen was on in the same condition it was when i dropped it off. it has a rather large scratch in it. What happened next was just amazing. They offered me a discount on the work that I had completed. That just wasn’t going to do it for me as I was planning on reselling the phone on ebay… so they offered to replace the screen for … NO CHARGE! Not only did they take good care of my original issue, but they did the right thing, in taking care of the scratch.

There is a reason I send all my friends to Electronics ETC! YOU ROCK!
