TommyLog – Caring for Someone You Love!

On my 9th anniversary with my sweetheart Becky, I reflect on what life is like having someone to take care. There is nothing more important in my life than making her happy. Building a family together is just the BEST EVER! The ups and downs make it all worth it.

TommyLog Dad, Ready To Answer The Call

Over the weekend I had one of those “Dad Moments” you see in the movies, but never happens to you. Well it was late on Saturday evening and i received a text from my daughter Madeline.

“Dad are you there?”

“YES I replied”

“I need you to come and get me”

And without hesitation the answer was a resounding yes and I flew out of the house to come whisk her away from her troubles. The wheres and why are not important to this story. The fact that she called me is what’s a big deal here. She knew she could count on me and I didn’t disappoint. As a father you always want to be there for your kids regardless of time or date.. and this was one of those amazing moments I’m sure glad i was there for her!

Visit to The FVTC Culinary School

Today I got a chance to visit Madeline and tour the Fox Valley technical College’s School of Culinary Arts. its just so humbling to see her in her elements. So excited and proud to show off her new stomping ground. She beamed from ear to ear as she showcased their culinary theater, bakery kitchens and freezers.

I got teary eyed as I walked the halls being led from room to room filled with Madeline’s excitement and love for the culinary arts.

Amazing to watch your little girl grow up – WOW

I’ve Been Lied To!

I have been lied to. I don’t take this lightly. I give out my trust easy but once it’s broken, IT’S OVER!!! Anyone remember the scene in Heat where Robert DeNiro is talking to a guy who lied to him and he told him he was “talking to an empty telephone.”  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOtaiiFJ1Wc

That’s how I feel now. I’ve been deceived, I’ve been hurt all because, I have been lied to.

I thought they were my friends, I thought they were looking out for my family…

lies

lies

lies!

Please just leave my life as fast as possible.

And I Drove Right Over…

I’m not immune to making mistakes PLEASE! This week In an email exchange, I inadvertently offended a member of our congregation. There are plenty of ways I could have addressed the issue, but do you know what I did? I got in my car and drive over to her house and apologized.
