TommyLog TECH – Lights, Camera, Emma! #VZWBuzz #ad

Hey Kids it’s Tommy and today I’m joined by my tech partner in crime Emma. Today we want, well mostly Emma since I can’t get a word in edgewise- to talk about how Emma uses Samsung Phones to film her own videos.

Emma Filming
Emma Filming using the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge smart phone.

Emma has the most vivid imagination of any 8-year-old child I have ever met. She loves to create scenes with her Littlest Pet Shop characters or more commonly called LPS in the kid inner circle. Emma one day picked up my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7 edge smart phones and the creativity just started flowing. So this kid with ZERO training starts filming 5, 10 even 15 minute videos all on her own; complete with script, dialog, hand painted characters and sets. I’m totally blown away at what she can accomplish! 1 video turned into 5 which turned into 20 – I think her total video count is somewhere close to 50 custom Emma videos uploaded to her own YouTube channel.

To help her with her filming, I got her a Joby GorillaPod tripod  (similar) as well as a tripod mount to hold smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7 edge is totally 100% Emma Approved!!

Emma would love it if you subscribed to her YouTube channel → https://www.youtube.com/emmaeclifford

THANK YOU to my good friends at Verizon. If you want your very own Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, you can look right here.  Want a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, get all the details here.

TommyLog – Know When to Lead, Know When to Follow

Hey kids, It’s dad and for today’s discussion, I want to talk about leadership and knowing when to lead and when to follow. There’s a difference between managing and leading and leaders know when they need to run the who and when they need to pitch in and lend a hand!

TommyLog – Can I Pick Your Brain??!?!

Hey Kids, it’s dad. And for today’s TommyLog  I want to talk to you about people who use the expression “can I pick your brain.” Few things get me as worked up. Someone who wants to “pick my brain” is just a taker. Stay away from people who are “takers.” You want to be around people who are givers — people who freely give their time to help others, and don’t expect anything in return. People like my friend Kelly or my friend Marc. They are givers. They have the entrepreneurial spirit and want to help see other succeed.

People want to pick your brain for looking out for number one. They’re looking out for themselves and don’t care anything about you. They just want to suck you dry and then stomp on you as they walk away. People who use the term “pick your brain” should burn. At some point have to put your foot down and say no. No you cannot “pick my brain!” My time is more valuable than that – kindly move along!!

It’s all about your attitude. If you have an attitude of learning and sharing that’s one thing but if you just want to be a taker that’s a whole separate thing

TommyLog – Long Lost Cousin!

Hey Kids it’s Dad, and for today’s TommyLog to talk to you about something that really has my mind in the whirl. This week I found out something pretty amazing. I found out that I’m not the oldest grandchild on my mom side. I’ve spent 48 years with this title and it’s not one that I’m giving up easy :-).

So as I understand it, back in 1966, my aunt had a child. She lovingly gave him up for adoption. This year for his 50th birthday, he set out to meet his birth mom and a few weeks ago they had a blessed reunion. It’s kind of amazing to think that there’s more family to be had. I LOVE THIS!!

Welcome to the family and be careful what you wish for :-)!!!
