For today’s TommyLog, and for the Christmas and holiday season, I was asked to talk about a topic that we are passionate about with regards to giving back. My mind immediately was drawn my service work with the great people at SOAR formally the ARC of the Fox Cities. I spend many Saturday mornings “coaching” their members for bowling and it is JUST AMAZING! Giving back rocks and fits so well into one of my motto’s
“And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
The adults that I work with from SOAR do more for me than I could ever do for them.
THANK YOU so much for allowing me to serve.
Very cool, Tommy. I grew up spending time with adults who had cognitive delays. My uncle’s job was teaching them life skills. I often went bowling with them and your video reminded me of those times. It’s awesome you spend time with them to coach them and to listen. As a child I learned very early that many people won’t take the time to listen or offer to help adults in programs like SOAR. Your time is the most valuable gift you can give and I know it’s very appreciated. Thank you for sharing and bring an encouraging voice to them and others.
Love you dear Sara. Thank you for watching and more, commenting. Serving others goes deep for me. Me and my family are so blessed when i give my time to others!
