TommyLog – Unexpected Email – No Sap

Received a very unexpected email from a great friend entitled “No Sap”. What a blessing it is to have this person in my life and what an inspiration they are. I just love surprises like that! So thankful for good people and friends in my life!

TommyLog – Will the Bigger Man Please Apologize First?

I have a life long friend named Jeff and we used to pick on each other, many times to tears. As I look back on the incidents for the real reason I picked on him, I can’t think of anything valid other than the fact he was bigger than I and he was what I felt was weaker. This went on for years and I’m pretty sure I never actually said i was sorry. This weekend, he reached out to me and said he was truly sorry.

It takes the bigger man to admit they are wrong and to say sorry. I’m blessed to have Jeff teach me this lesson.

I appreciate him and call him a good friend. YOU ROCK JEFF!

TommyLog – There is No Suicide Solution!

This last week, suicide has been in the news and has also hit a bit too close to home. The son off a good friend had a suicide scare. As i’m talking to him, borderline tears, I realize I got nothing. I’m no help what-so-ever. I have never dealt with this issue before and I certainly hope I never have to. Just so tragic all around!

TommyLog – How the past still goes deep

This week I reconnected with a family from my childhood past. Their name is the Horsley family and I just love them. They have a son Scott who I was rather close to and he was killed in a terrible car crash in 1983. Reconnecting to them really brought back his memory. Just amazing how much I remember of that event and how hard it still hits deep.

Mom Horsely, Gloria and big sister, Heidi both have their doctorate and have started a foundation to help siblings in time of loss and grief. Well worth a trip over to give supportĀ http://www.opentohope.com/

TommyLog – HUGE STORMS Hit Appleton, WI

WOW… it’s really amazing how a little wind can make such a big difference. Well the people of Appleton found out the hard way. I was watching the storms from my Green Bay local but knew it was bad when all my friend at the City Center were out of power. That’s pretty major stuff.

What I came home to, well you can see by the pics, not very pretty. THANKFULLY no losses of life or real damage other then some inconvenience. A power outage for a few hours and come tree cleanup, not a big deal. But our family is so blessed. Some families were out of power all weekend long. Make sure to thank the WE Energies guys for working so hard. They really pulled through this weekend for the peeps in Appleton.
