Chile heads rejoice! Recent tests have confirmed that there is a new “world’s hottest chile pepper” : the Bhut Jolokia. Clocking in at a whopping 1,001,304 scovilles, it’s 100 times hotter than a jalapeño. This is good news both for mouth masochists looking for the ultimate burn, but also for food producers who will be able to produce the same amount of chile burn as an additive with far fewer chile peppers.
