This is one awesome mod. If you have a laptop just lying around, why not put it to use in your living room? With the help of Chris from GrynX, you can gut a laptop and use it to display your favorite photographs and hang it on the wall. What’s great about this mod is that with no hard drive and a wireless connection, this mod is virtually silent looks just like any other picture frames you have set up now. It appears that podcasters are noticing a new user agent downloading from their servers that shows up as iTunes 4.9. This is most likely internal developers testing it out, but I think this is a good sign that we could see something released soon.

Only two years after DVD rentals surpassed VHS rentals and various DVD player manufacturers and retailers all left the business, the ultimate sign of the end of the VHS as a format for pre-recorded movies was sounded today when Wal-Mart announced that it was phasing out sales of pre-recorded VHS tapes. It will continue through the 2005 holiday season, but after that it’s all DVDs all the time. Competitors Best Buy and Circuit City bailed out of the VHS selling business a while back, and Target just announced similar plans — but Wal-Mart’s overall domination of the retail market means that pre-recorded VHS isn’t dead until Wal-Mart says it’s dead, and apparently, it’s now dead.

We know how you people love free stuff. So here we have a website containing thousands of ROMS. From Coleco to Atari to NES, they are sure to have everything. Unlike most sites, this site does not link to sites that are questionable in nature or deal in pornographic material. This is a kid safe site!

Optware Corp. is planning to release a Holographic Versatile Card (HVC) media product around the end of 2006.

The card capacity is expected to be 30 GB. The company aims to price the product around $1. As big as an external hard drive, the read-only drive would cost around $2000 while a reader/writer device could go as high as $10000.

The storage card would be as big as a credit card. 30GB is a lot of data for something of that size. It’s quite impressive. Could they make a smaller 10GB one for my cellphone?
