Not exactly a marriage made in heaven

A little while ago, the police here in Manchester were summoned to a domestic disturbance. A young couple’s argument had turned physical, and both were a bit battered. The police arrested the woman, and she was charged and released on bail pending trial for domestic abuse.

Now the lady would like the terms of her bail changed. She can live with the no alcohol, no weapons, no drugs, and most of the other conditions. However, she would like the court to revoke the “no contact with the victim” clause.

Currently, she has to stay at least 100 yards away from the guy in question until her trial on July 27. And that could pose some interesting challenges to their planned wedding on June 27.

The cynic in me is tempted to open a betting pool on just how long this marriage will last… and how it’ll end.
