When Sending Out Your Jammed Printer For Repair, First Remove Counterfeit Money
Criminals don’t have to be particularly intelligent, of course. However, if you’re counterfeiting money — lots of money, from what’s being said — and your printer gets jammed full of the fake stuff, you might want to remove the fake bills before sending it out for repairs. It appears that some criminals didn’t think things through very carefully, leading to the investigation and arrest of a counterfeiting ring, that the FBI claims was responsible for 10% of all counterfeit money in the state of Arizona. Of course, what’s scary is if a people like that could get away with counterfeiting so much for so long, just imagine what slightly more clever people might be able to get away with.

Apple sued by soap-on-a-rope manufacturers*
It does seem lately that corporate America’s favorite pastime is suing Apple Computer. Every time you turn around, there’s another case against Apple. Some are bogus, some are legitimate. This one, however, is really going to take Apple down.
Look at the striking similarities between the iPod shuffle and everyone’s favorite Father’s Day gift, the soap-on-a-rope. It’s uncanny! Both feature a white, ovoid shape suspended from a "rope" of sorts that hangs around the neck, lanyard-style. Have they no sense of decency? Forget Lugz. This one is going to bring the pain.

Sony also said it will offer exchanges for consumers who purchased the discs, which contain hidden files that leave them vulnerable to computer viruses when played on a PC.
Ziff Davis UK report on installing Mac OS on x86 hardware
Mark Frauenfelder:
Ziff Davis UK has a nice report about what it is like to install and use Mac OS on a Windows machine.
So far, mainly because of performance and price issues, the Apple platform has failed to tempt many Windows users. This could change soon: from the middle of next year, a Mac OS X x86 platform will be available, which will offer more performance to the Windows world. However, the operating system is currently only planned to be available on Apple hardware. The modification that makes the OS accessible for all other x86 computers, as happened with the developer version evaluated here, will no longer be possible.
