Know your rights when you’ve been pulled over

Police search - Lifehacker

The Flex Your Rights Foundation has posted a 45-minute video on Google designed to help you understand your rights next time a cop pulls you over.

We’ve touched on the issue of how to handle police car searches once or twice before, but this video, apart from being fairly dorky, should help you get an idea of your rights on the road. Thanks Jason!

New [Mac] OS screenshots

There is support for running Windows apps natively within the OSX desktop, with the new version of Internet Explorer happily co-existing alongside an OSX Finder window. Speaking of which, Finder now has tabs. Thank goodness for that.

There is new support for virtual desktops, which allow users to switch between different layouts for different tasks or aspects of their machine. A transition appears to show the user ‘peeling away’ the top layer of the current desktop to get to another one underneath.

How to clean your BBQ

dirtybbq.png

We got somewhat of an unpleasant surprise this weekend when we opened up our BBQ after six months of dormancy: a filthy grill that looked like it was ready for the dumpster (it was that bad).

However, after turning to our trusty friend the Internet, we had hope that the BBQ would grill again. Komar.org has a short and sweet post on how to clean your BBQ grill with a few “must have” products; we now look forward to when our grill will once again be cranking out the grilled chicken/steak/pork goodness.
